OUCH!! need HELP with my blister!

for some reason, during my 7 miles on the treadmill this morning I developed a big blister on the inside of my big toe where it rubs against my 2nd toe. I still have 3 more miles to run this afternoon and like 30 more before Saturday... I've never gotten a blister before....
HELP?!!

all you experienced running women..what can I do? it hurts!

  1. Bandaid makes special bandaids that are meant for blisters that work fairly well and stick on decently.

  2. Here is how I used to handle blisters very successfully when I used to row...

First, sterilize a needle with alcohol and rub a little alcohol on the blistered area. Then, right at the margin of the blister (where it bubbles up... right at the very edge) poke the needle in and pop it. Have a cotton ball w/ alcohol on it at the ready and use this to help drain the blister. The alcohol will help prevent infection and help dry it out. Then let it air dry. Before you go for your run, either tape it or put a bandaid over it to keep the bubble skin pressed close to the raw skin... you are hoping they don't rub cuz that might hurt. One of two things should eventually happen... either the two layers will reunite and all goes great OR they won't reunite and the bottom layer heals and the top becomes unnecessary and you just trim it off as close to the margin as you can.

Hope it works as well for you as it did for me! Good luck!
